The Issues

Fiscal Restraint, Financial Responsibility, and a Balanced State Budget

It’s time to review all budget items, determine the “needs” vs. the “wants” and eliminate government waste.

It’s time to promote a culture of fiscal restraint and responsibility at all levels, in all state agencies.

It’s time to reward efforts to streamline all state agencies, making procedures more efficient to better serve the public.

It’s time for our state agencies to do more, do it better, and make do with less.

Growing Jobs, Growing Jobs, Growing Jobs

It’s time to create a more business-friendly climate in Minnesota.

It’s time to explore economic incentives to encourage new businesses to locate, relocate or expand in Minnesota.
It’s time to lower tax rates on all businesses in Minnesota to spur job growth.

It’s time to promote investments and venture capital in Minnesota’s private businesses.

Quality Education and Family Choice

It’s time to help teachers do what they do best – teach.

It's time to emphasize the basics:  Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, American History, Computer Science.

It’s time to place a higher priority on supporting ways that will help maximize our children’s long-term success, such as improving pre-school education and providing smaller class sizes.

It’s time to expand open enrollment where students and families choose the public school that best meets their needs.

It’s time to continue supporting traditional schooling methods while also supporting innovative alternatives such as charter schools, home schools, private schools, and others.

It’s time to help school districts deal with budget issues that significantly impact smaller districts.

Public Safety

It’s time to work more closely with state and local law enforcement and emergency personnel to address their concerns and find ways we can work together to ensure the safety of our citizens.

Transportation

It’s time Minnesota had a comprehensive transportation plan for roads, bridges, and rail that will meet our estimated growth and commercial needs.

Health Care Reform

It’s time to let the free market work to create more competition and make health care more affordable.

It’s time to believe in individual freedom, privacy, and the right to say no to government control of health care decisions that should be made between Minnesotans and their doctors only.

Providing Essential Services and a Safety Net

It’s time to emphasize workfare over welfare, and help our citizens go back to work with a hand-up, not a hand-out.

It's time to provide a safety net only to those Minnesotans who truly need it.

Energy and the Environment

It’s time to support proven technology in the use of energy to keep costs down for the consumer.

It’s time to increase the use of wind, solar, and nuclear power for the people of Minnesota.
